Mein Leipzig lob ich mir! (I praise my Leipzig!)
blank Gewandhaus Song- and pianocompositions
by directors of music of the Gewandhaus
The Gewandhaus has a tradition of concerts for over 250 years now.
The chosen songs and intermezzi in this programme are from different musical
epochs. It is not only because of the same cast (soprano & piano) which makes
such a stilistic differing compilation seem to be attractive while at the
same time justifying it - it is also because of the silent confession
made by all the previous conductors of the Gewandhaus in Leipzig to protect
the great tradition of caring about music in concerts and chambermusic.
It is the first time that such a programme with this kind of depth and variety of compositions
by directors of music of the Gewandhaus can be seen and experienced!
